“The guys are asleep in one of the bedrooms,” Andrea said.

I turned away from my computer to look at her. “Really?”

Even now, a couple of weeks later, we’re not sure if this was a totally normal turn of events, but we decided only minutes later that it wasn’t unjustified.

Before Antonio began laying down our new tile floor over the existing brick he told us they would need to chip the surface to create a better texture for the adhesive cement to stick to. We were surprised to learn this was a manual process requiring many hours of backbreaking labor.
