In Costa Rica it’s an exercise in patience!!! To get an oil change takes hours. To fix something bigger, you have to go to the dealer or a ‘reputable’ service center and may have to leave your car there for an indeterminate period of time! And yes, maybe it’s because as you say explaining a car issue in Spanish might as well be like explaining a complex surgery-not general words you learn on Duolingo or anywhere else. 😉

I was surprised to read this. My wife and I bought our first new car from Nissan in 2010 in Morelia, loved it and the dealership, decided to sell it in 2019 and got a Nissan Kicks which it sounds like you got. It hasn’t failed us in six years and we always are treated well at the dealership. Sorry to hear your experience wasn’t as positive.
